DESCRIPTION:Learn about pressing apples for cider using a smaller cider press\, and which varieties of apples are best for different flavours and tartness.  You can also learn how to ferment fresh cider into ‘hard cider\,’ as well as other types of fermented fruit beverages  This is a fun workshop packed with useful information.\nThe workshop will take place at the Tantallon Library from 2:30 to 4:30\, Sunday\, October 19th. \nThis event is free and open to the public. DESCRIPTION:For millennia humans have sought out wild staples: those foods that contain essential calories and protein. Fortunately these foods are all around us in Turtle Island. Learn about how to prepare acorns to make bread as well as starchy tubers: Apios americana (ground nut)\, Sunchokes and Cattail corms.\nJoin us for this interesting and highly valuable two-hour workshop.  Jenn Stotland will discuss harvesting these staples as well as demonstrate preparation of acorns for making bread.\nThis two-hour workshop will be held at the Tantallon Public Library on Sunday\, October 26th\, from 2:30 to 4:30pm.\nThis event is free and open to the public.
