“Gentle Dragons” and FarmWorks Information Session

Food Producers – if you’re looking to start, grow or promote your food related business, the Dragons would like to hear from you!  Gentle Dragons is a popular event and venue to pitch your plan, get great feedback, and enjoy local food and conversation.  Transition Bay is proud to co-sponsor this event with FarmWorks (www.farmworks.ca), an investment co-operative helping to drive the food innovation sector – with over $1 million invested in NS businesses to date.

All types of food-related businesses are welcome to submit an application, including those involved in:

Farm/Producer, Caterer/Prepared Foods, Specialty Food Items, Winery/Beverages, Food Processing/Packaging, Restaurant/Bar, Distributors/Marketers

All public are welcome – see your local entrepreneurs pitch their businesses.  Local refreshments will be served.  There is no charge to attend.

Are you interested in starting, or growing, a farm or food-related business in Nova Scotia? Have you heard about FarmWorks “Gentle Dragons”? They’re helpful Dragons – they ask questions and make suggestions! During November the Dragons will be travelling around Nova Scotia hearing from farmers and food producers who may need money, mentoring or marketing. We’d love to hear about your business! Please check FarmWorks calendar to find the date and location closest to you. Everyone is welcome! Would you like to meet and hear from local producers, enjoy local food and conversation and learn about FarmWorks and other organizations? FarmWorks has already loaned more than one million dollars to 44 businesses across the Province and more businesses are looking for our support. FarmWorks’ Mission is to promote, and provide strategic and responsible community investment in food production and distribution in order to increase access to a sustainable local food supply for all Nova Scotians. Money invested by Nova Scotians in FarmWorks is loaned to businesses that meet FarmWorks criteria. Whether or not you want to apply for a loan, we’d like to hear your promotion of your business – there will be potential customers in the audience.
